This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our pages or buy from us, why we use it, who we share it with and what your rights are.
Who we are
The Smart Library is the trading name of One Percent International LLC, a company registered in Delaware, USA, at 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, USA. We are the “controller” of the personal information described here.

TO CONFIRM: our representative in the UK under Article 27 of the UK GDPR — name and address.
What we collect
When you place an order
- your name, email address, delivery address and, if you give it, your phone number;
- what you ordered, the price and the date.
Payments are handled by Shopify Payments. We never see or store your full card number.
When you visit our pages
- with your consent, information from cookies and similar tools: the pages you view, the device and browser you use, your approximate location from your IP address, and whether you arrived from one of our adverts.
Advertising cookies are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner.
When you open the free gifts that come with a book
- the email address you enter to open the gift page;
- TO CONFIRM: which reading data the gift pages record, for example the pages opened.
When you write to us
- your message and the details you choose to share.
Why we use it

Who we share it with
We share only what each service needs:
- Shopify, which runs our checkout and processes payments;
- BookVault, our printing partner in the UK, which prints your books and sends them to you (your name, delivery address and order);
- the delivery company that carries your parcel;
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), only if you accept advertising cookies, to measure our adverts;
- Cloudflare, which hosts and protects our pages;
- our email provider, to send and receive emails TO CONFIRM: provider;
- professional advisers, and public authorities when the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information.
International transfers
Some of these services, and our company, are based in the United States. When your information leaves the UK, we rely on the safeguards the UK law allows, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
- Order records: 6 years, because UK tax rules require it.
- Emails with us: up to 2 years after the last message.
- Marketing: until you unsubscribe.
- Cookies: as shown in the cookie banner.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- see the information we hold about you;
- have it corrected;
- have it deleted;
- limit or object to how we use it;
- receive it in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time.

If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
We use two kinds of cookies:
- essential cookies, which make the pages and the checkout work;
- advertising cookies (Meta pixel), only with your consent.
You can change your choice at any time from the cookie banner at the bottom of the page.
Children
Our books are sold to adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version here with its date.
